Vacancies are available for Experts in the fields of Environment, Water Resources and Scientific Information.

I.     Experts in Environment in SPS-10/SPS-11
Qualifications
Ph.D, M.S/M.Phil in Environmental Sciences involving modeling expertise, preferably from a reputable foreign University.

Experience

  1. Ph.D: 6 years for SPS-10, 11 years for SPS-11
  2. M.S/M.Phil: 11 years for SPS-10, 16 years for SPS-11

Through out first class academic career will be preferred

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years

Job Description

  • To carry out Long distance air pollution transport modeling,
  • To carry out Impact assessment of air pollutants on local weather and local climate.
  • To carry out Impact assessment of Climate Change on Biodiversity, Forestry, Human Health etc.
  • To conduct Greenhouse Gas emissions related studies in Pakistan.
  • To present the research outcome at various forums and dissemination of research work.
  • To provide leadership and guidance to the young researchers in the Environment Section of GCISC.

II.     Experts in Water Resources in SPS-10/SPS-11
Qualifications
Ph.D, M.S/M.Phil in Water Resources involving modeling expertise, preferably from a reputable foreign University.

Experience

  1. Ph.D: 6 years for SPS-10, 11 years for SPS-11
  2. M.S/M.Phil: 11 years for SPS-10, 16 years for SPS-11

Through out first class academic career will be preferred

Age Limit: Maximum 50 years

Job Description

  • Watershed modeling using state-of-the art Computer Simulation models applied to Indus River System (IRS).
  • Applications of GIS and remote sensing techniques for Water Resources related studies.
  • Study of the impact of climate change on snow/ ice/ and glacier melt, river flows, incursion of sea water in Indus river delta, and corresponding adaptation measures.
  • To present the research outcome at various forums and dissemination of research results.
  • To provide leadership and guidance to the young researchers working in the Water Resources Section at GCISC.

III.     Scientific Information Officer in SPS-8/ SPS-9 
         (Lump Sum Contract)

Qualifications
First class M.A/M.Sc in Journalism, Mass Communication, English Literature or other relevant subject.
(First class academic career will be preferred)

Experience

  1. SPS-9 : 6 years of relevant experience
  2. SPS-8 : 1 year of relevant experience

Through out first class academic career will be preferred

Age Limit: Maximum 35 years

Job Description

  • Communication of scientific findings to media, relevant technical organizations, academic institutions, policy makers and general public.
  • Organization of Workshops and conferences.
  • Editing of technical reports and drafting/ writing of Institution’s annual and quarterly progress reports etc.
  •  Liaison with national electronic and print media.
